3rd qualifying round for UCL sends Ajax to Greece and Porto to Russia

The third qualifying round of European’s top international competition, the Champions League, took place this Monday. In this round, there are already some big names competing, including five previous winners of the competition: Ajax, Celtic Glasgow, FC Porto, Red Star Belgrade, and PSV Eindhoven.

The qualifying rounds work through two routes: the champions route, which includes only teams that have won their respective leagues. Here are the fixtures for the upcoming matches:

CFR Cluj vs Celtic (SCO)

APOEL (CYP) vs Qarabağ (AZE)

GNK Dinamo (CRO) vs Ferencváros (HUN)

København (DEN) vs Crvena Zvezda (SRB)

Maribor (SVN) vs Rosenborg (NOR)

PAOK (GRE) vs Ajax (NED)

The other route is called League path and involves teams that have qualified through the coefficient of their leagues, although they did not win their respective leagues. Here are the fixtures:

İstanbul Başakşehir (TUR) vs Olympiacos (GRE)

FC Krasnodar (RUS) vs FC Porto (POR)

FC Dynamo Kyiv (UKR) vs Club Brugge (BEL)

LASK (AUT) vs Basel (SWI)

The matches will happen in two legs, home and away, being played in the 6th and 7th of August and 13th and 14th.
