The 29 year old Spanish centreback Alvaro Gonzalez, from Villarreal CF, has joined Olympique Marseille. The played has agreed on a 4 year contract with the French team.
The defender was targeted by the Blues of Marseille for a while and he was on the wishlist of the sporting manager of the team Andoni Zubizarreta. He becomes the first official signing of Olympique in the new season, now that they are coached by Andre Villas-Boas.
Since the parts have disagreed on a transfer fee, Alvaro will join the Ligue 1 team for one year loan, with €4M of buyout clause after this period.
Last season the athlete played 41 games for the ‘Yellow Submarine’ scoring 1 goal and making two assists.
